Cabin 4C

For the past few weeks it has been clean, clean, clean. We are under the directive of the camp leadership to deep clean all cabins, cook stations, restrooms, and showers before the beginning of the winter camping season in the Smith and Esther camps.
What have we learned from this? Well, for one thing, we are learning a lot about cleaning and other related stuff. But most importantly, we know that we are assisting in the maintenance of the camp. So...our last cabin was 4C , as shown in the enclosed picture.
The other important thing we have come to realize, that while it is important to have our own ideas, and we should at times share them, we need to be humble enough to follow the directions given by our mission leaders. We talked to one camp host that said she wasn't going to clean her cabin windows and screens because, "the snow in the winter will just get them dirty again"! I guess that is a bit like someone who says they won't wash the dishes because they will just eat on them again, or they won't make the bed because they just will sleep on it again! So, I think there is an important element of obedience to be learned here.
Stuart visited with us last Saturday for a short visit. He was on a mini vacation and spent some time in Logan with Nick. We sure enjoyed the visit and we got a chance to let him see what we were doing.
Yesterday, Thursday, Aunt Janeil and Uncle Eldon dropped in while they are here for conference and we got to show them around. We are trying with Aunt Gail and Aunt Janeil to see if we should have another NYF reunion, probably in 2010, but that would probably be the last one. They (Aunt Janeil and Eldon) think we should have it at Heber Valley Camp, so we are going to look into it. Keep tuned.
We are in PG for the weekend and, since the Camp is closed for conference, we will be staying here. We will be going back up on Monday. Our last campers come next Friday. The camp is full that night.
