In Smith Camp they are going to re-stain the cabins and in preparation for that, and for fire safety reasons, the weeds had to be cleared for 10 feet around each cabin. These weeds are to our waist!
Another crew came in and did most of the cutting and raking but we needed to rake and clear campsite 5 so we jumped on that this afternoon. I stopped and took the enclosed picture on the way back from one of our trips to the dump site which is down the hill below camp making a 6 mile round trip. We hauled down two loads this afternoon.
The leaves are turning here at 8000 feet and so in the next few days I will be taking some pictures and sending them on. It is such a beautiful time of year and, even though we have a lot more "physical" labor during this portion of our mission, we are still so glad to be here and to feel the spirit that exists on this mountain. It is very, very special.
We truly appreciate all of the blessings that our Father is giving us during our service here. 3 months ago, it would have been very difficult for me to even load the wagon once. I personally am so blessed to be here with Lois and together doing this work.
Looks like a beautiful place. When do you go home?
