It would probably be difficult, if not impossible to add something about everything we have done since our vacation in Idaho, mentioned in the last post, so I will just share some thoughts about this Christmas. Perhaps I can add more about other things we have done at a later date.
We've had all of our children, except for Alan, and their families here at Dave and Amy's house to share the Christmas activities this year. It has really been fun. All of us had Christmas morning together except that Greg was at his home in Eagle Mountain with his family and then they joined us later in the day.
Lois and I looked around as we gathered for Christmas Eve and both wondered, "look what we have done!" But is was a wonderful feeling to see so many here.
The grandchildren, under the able direction of Mariah and Tori, presented a great rendition of the Nativity. I have enclosed a picture of the "cast". It was really fun.
Bryton, our grandson, opened his mission call letter (see a video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4koG0u6RBM ) and is going to the Chili Santiago Mission in April, our first grandchild to be called on a mission.
Greg and Cozette also announced that they are expecting, some time in late July. Number 20 for us. We are really excited about it.
On Friday, we went to CLAS-ropes in Provo and went on the Christmas Cruise. CLAS-Ropes is the organization that trains us for our Challenge Course activities at the Heber Valley Camp. At both Halloween and Christmas they take a 40 person boat up and down the Provo River which is at the edge of their property, and those going can enjoy the special decorations and activities. Lots of Christmas lights at Christmas, with a canoe visit by Santa. It took about 25 or 30 minutes and was really fun. We were there with another family and we all joined in singing carols and re-enjoying the Christmas spirit.
We received "The Christmas Sweater" by Glenn Beck, which I am sure perhaps many of you have read. I started it last evening and couldn't put it down until I finished it this morning at 2:00! I strongly recommend it, even though I felt my sleep was a bit too short last night.
Congratulations on the new grandchild! We are expecting our 2nd great grandchild that same month.
